AFK Program_web The Architecture Foundation of BC is proud to fund the Artists for Kids Architecture Enrichment Program in Partnership with the North Vancouver Artists for Kids Trust and Architecture Canada| RAIC Metro Vancouver Chapter. The program brings together local architects and K-12 students in Architecture Enrichment Studios. Through hands-on studios, students learn more about the power of architecture and the elements that make it an asset to our communities. Architecture for Kids runs three sets of sessions per year. Each session offers one day-long class a week over the course of three weeks, where an architect or architecture team is paired with 18 students from across the North Vancouver School District. Architects develop class plans with North Vancouver teachers and help run the studios. This year Rafael Santa Ana of Acton Ostry Architects, Kate Busby and Patrick Wheeler of HCMA, and Bo Helliwell of Blue Sky Architecture volunteered as architects in residence, teaching high level architectural concepts and skills through hands-on projects.
